Heather and the Baby

Beckisue's anatomy class had an assignment to make a model of an organ. Beckisue and her study partner decided to make a uterus. While they were working on that I decided to make a model of a baby to go in it. Beckisue showed me in the book a bunch of pictures of babies at different stages. I chose 56+1 days. It turned out pretty well considering my total lack of artistic ability.
Anyway, to get to the point of the story. When I showed it to my 15 1/2 month old niece she was totally fascinated by it. She started saying "Baby, baby." It was so sweet. She wanted to hold it but I told her to just touch it so she sat there and petted it for the longest time. When she stopped looking at it for a minute I decided to put it back in the box but when she turned around she immediately wanted to see it again. The rest of the evening she wanted to have that little baby. At one point when I walked into Grandma and Grandpa's living room and she saw that I didn't have the baby in my hands, she held her hands in the air as if to say "What did you do with the baby!" So, of course, I took her back into our living room to hold it again. At one point she leaned over and kissed the head of the baby. It was about the sweetest thing I have ever seen. I guess she knows from experience that kissing is what you do to babies!

Caroling

My family and I went Christmas caroling last night and tonight. Last night we just did a few neighbors and then we spent the rest of the evening visiting some friends and singing at their house. Tonight we really did the rounds though. We went to a few neighbors before going to Fran's house. We caroled for Millie next and she decided that we had to sing for several of her friends so she followed us around for a little while. That was so much fun. We worked our way back into Logansport and did a few more. Many people told us this was the first time they had ever had carolers! I guess it is pretty uncommon now.
The weather wasn't too bad. The wind of blowing pretty hard at first which made it VERY cold but I think it must have died down some because I didn't notice it too much after a while.
All in all we had a lot of fun!

Our Joy (Heather Joy That Is)

Mom had to go to Indianapolis today. Of course, none of us can go down there with out making a stop, either going or coming, at Dale and Michelle's so we can see the baby. Well, when mom stopped she decided to just kidnap Heather and make her parents come get her! (well, it was something like that) Dale and Michelle were going to come up tomorrow anyway so they just decided they would go ahead and come up tonight. We always have so much fun with her! She kept us all laughing tonight (like that is unusual).
We were all in the living room and all of a sudden she started in on a new trick. She held her fists out and tightened all her muscles so tight that she started shaking! It was SOOO funny. They she started walking across the room but she wasn't bending her knees so it was kind of like a stomp. She kept it up for quite a while!
A little while after that she decided she wanted to wear my snow boots. Monica put them on her and they almost covered her whole legs. Monica had to hold onto her arms so she wouldn't fall but she loved to walk with them on! She kept walking back and forth from the kitchen door to the living room.
She truly is a joy to our family.

Michigan

Monica and I got to go to Michigan Saturday for Marty and Rachel's wedding. I was worried that we wouldn't get to go because of bad weather or something but it worked out. I stayed at Fran's house Friday so we could leave early Saturday morning. We made good time going up. The roads were clear the whole way which we were very thankful for. We arrived at 11:45 and the wedding started at 1:00. We were able to get ready quickly and then go to the church to help with all the last minute things, which really weren't "last minute things" they were just being done at the last minute! :) It all came together and the wedding started on time. It was a very sweet wedding.
The rest of our visit was very nice. I always love visiting up there. Everyone is so friendly and I have learned to love all of them over the last few years.
Sunday evening we had to return the tuxes to the mall in Traverse City, so Molly and Jeremy, Pastor and Mrs. T., Bethany, Deb R. MaryBeth and I all went to Cracker Barrel for supper. We had a lot of fun just talking and joking and playing with Derek.
When we got home Pastor Townsend wanted us to watch Police Squad so we ended up watching three episodes. I enjoyed it because of the company I was with. Other wise they are STUPID! That just isn't my kind of humor! After that was over Bethany and I decided to watch "The Last Sin Eater". Jeremy ended up watching it with us and cracked jokes through about the first 20 minutes. After that we all settled down and watched the movie. Bethany really liked the movie and I was so glad.
Monday morning was the first time things had settled enough to just sit and talk with the Townsends. I enjoyed that time so much.
Monica arrived from John and Shannon's at about 11:15 and we managed to pry ourselves away by 11:45. I drove home and we didn't stop until we got to Fran's house. We made good time. There wasn't any traffic and the roads were clear. It didn't seem like too long of a drive.
I am very thankful that I was able to go on the trip and I am also thankful we made it safely home!

Tomorrow Today Will Be History

I am not sure why I am starting a blog. I guess it will just be easier for to write down daily happening for me to remember in the future. I guess I will start with today.
Grandpa had an other episode today. We think it is an other UTI but we will have to wait for the test results tomorrow. He spent most of the afternoon in bed. He didn't even want to get up for supper. He took some ibuprofen so hopefully his temperature will be down in the morning and he will be feeling better.
I made a skirt today. I am not happy with the way it turned out so I am going to have to change some things. I think it will be okay when I get done. I have been doing a lot of sewing lately. I made a skirt for Beckisue for her birthday. I made a skirt for Stephanie for her birthday (which turned out absolutely cute!) and I made Grandma a skirt (not for her birthday :)). I am hoping to be able to get a few more things done this week. I have to start doing some more practicing though. I have been neglecting my violin terribly, and my piano only gets some of the practice it needs! I also skipped exercise today. Very bad girl I know!
Well, I guess that was my day. Of course, there were a lot more details. That will do for now though.
